Notes:
Altice decided to split their shares into European and US shares. Due to this split the value of Altice NV got reduced drastically and in exchange I received US shares. Basically it’s a zero sum action.
However, in Belgium this is considered as a dividend (how crazy it may sound) and I had to pay 30% taxes on it.
I’ve send a complaint to both Keytrade and the ombudsman as Keytrade didn’t share any info beforehand. So, in a nutshell I pay here taxes on dividends that shouldn’t be on shares that lost value.
I expect the shares to go back up and hope to compensate. but I will also have to send a complaint to the state to pay me back this money.
